Posted January 19, 2018 06:14:06The Cross Country Nursing Association of Iowa (CCNAI) is one of the largest groups of Cross Country nurses and has the largest membership in the United States.
CCNAI has been active in the nursing industry since 1976.
In 2011, CCNAIs membership doubled from 3,200 to 11,500.
The group was founded by Dr. Suzanne Davis, who is now a certified nurse midwife and certified clinical nurse specialist (CCNMSP).
Davis started the organization with two goals in mind.
One, to provide the best nursing care possible for our patients, and two, to support the cross country running and endurance running community.
Davis has trained and competed in Cross Country running and Endurance running events.
The CCNA has chapters in both Iowa and in Colorado.
CCNAs training, education, and resources are available to all CCNA members, including members of the general public, on the CCNA’s website at www.ccna.org.
CCNAS was created in 2009 with the goal of bringing together cross country nurses and Cross Country Endurance runners who share similar values and passion for the sport.
CCDNAs membership includes both Cross Country runners and Cross country nurses.
Cross Country Nurse Practitioners (CNPs) are a separate organization.
CNPs are the first line of defense for nursing home residents who have a medical condition that requires the use of a CT scan or CT machine.
CNP’s are trained to administer CT and PET scans and provide medical care for patients in the hospital.
CNAs training and education are available on the CNAs website at cnsanv.org or at the CCNAS office in Des Moines.
