Licensed practical nurses in Pennsylvania have been charged with fraud after a nurse at a medical center used a fake name and social security number to register for a nursing home.
In an affidavit, Assistant State’s Attorney John Zullo says the nurse, who is in her 20s, was paid $600 by a health care provider to register at the Philadelphia Care Home in 2012 and 2013.
Zullo tells CBS News that the nurse was not registered with the hospital.
He says the doctor in charge of the nursing home at the time signed the nursing-home contract.
Zullos affidavit says that the nursing Home also provided a document that showed the nurse’s social security numbers.
Zollos affidavit said the nurse told investigators that she signed the contract when she was 15 years old, but it was a different nurse.
